This program will not be offered for the Fall 2008 semester. It will be next offered for the Spring 2009 semester.

Fees for the Brockport China: Three Cities Program:

Spring 2008 Semester: $13,995
Spring 2009 Semester: $13,995 (est.)

Included in the Program Fee:

  • Comprehensive travel insurance;
  • Accommodation: Clean, comfortable housing at all three locations;
  • All program related travel within China;
  • Sightseeing, academic-related activities, topical lectures;
  • A Welcome party on arrival;
  • Tuition: All application fees, tuition and registration fees for 30 hours a week of class, all study materials (textbooks, newspapers, etc.) and language course placement assistance;
  • Visa and Letter of Invitation: Acquisition of letter of invitation and processing of Chinese visa and payment of all associated fees;
  • Grade Report/Transcript: Processing of official grade reports/transcripts to facilitate transfer of credit;
  • Pre-Departure orientation Materials: Lonely Planet's CHINA SURVIVAL GUIDE, pre-arrival program guide, suggested packing list, Lonely Planet's MANDARIN PHRASE BOOK, luggage tags, vaccination information and suggestions;
  • China Arrival orientation Package: Chinese/English translation dictionary, personalized business cards, orientation manual/resource guide, EducAsian t-shirt, map and atlas of Beijing and China, phone card and instructions for use, campus and surrounding area tour, welcome banquet;
  • Chinese airport pickup and drop off;
  • Beijing restaurant and entertainment discount card;
  • Departure/airport taxes;
  • Embassy Registration: registration at Embassy in Beijing and appropriate confirmation and contact information;
  • Emergency Cards: laminated multi-lingual emergency cards with directions and 24-hour contact numbers for EducAsian staff and western-run clinics with English speaking medical professionals;
  • Tutoring: Tutorials (as needed) and introduction to language exchange partners;
  • Bank Accounts: Assistance in setting up a bank account and other standard needs;
  • Guided local sightseeing excursions:

    In Beijing: The Great Wall, Simatai, The Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, Jing Shan Park, a Confucian Temple, The Temple of Heaven, Yong He Gong (Lama Temple) and Tiananmen Square.

    In Shanghai: People's Square, The Bund, Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Yuan Bazaar, Museum of Chinese History and a Tour of the Pudong New Investment Zone.

    In Hong Kong: Repulse Bay, Victoria's Peak, and a City Tour.

  • Group Activities: Cooking class, Beijing duck dinner, Beijing opera, lecture series on living, working and doing business in China, lecture series on Chinese culture and history, "Pengyou" language exchange partner parties, and a lecture series on the films of China.

  • Six Weekend [i.e., overnight - Saturday departure, Sunday return] Excursions:

    From Beijing: Xian Mt., Tai/Qufu and Tianjin.

    From Shanghai: Hangzhou, Nanjing and Suzhou.

    What is NOT Included in the Program Fee:

  • Meals;
  • Round trip airfare;
  • The cost of a passport (the cost of securing the visa for entry to China is included [for US citizens traveling on a US passport]);
  • SUNY-Mandated Health Insurance;
  • Personal expenses (laundry, postage, telephone calls, souvenirs, non-program related travel, etc.).
