Financial Aid

Financial aid IS available for study abroad participants on a Brockport program.

A student who is normally eligible for federal financial aid will, in most cases, be able to use every single penny of the financial aid he/she gets to cover the cost of a Brockport study abroad program.

And...in cases where the total cost (including such things as transportation, meals and some personal expenses such as books) of the study abroad program turns out to be more than the cost of a semester at the home campus, additional financial aid is usually available to cover those additional costs.

This applies to all students on Brockport study abroad programs, from any college or university in America.

For more information, contact:

  • The Office of Financial Aid on your home campus,
  • The Office of International Education at Brockport.

    Or, visit these web sites:

The U.S. Department of Education's Student Guide to Financial Aid
    http://studentaid.ed.gov/guide
This is the most comprehensive resource on student financial aid from the U.S. Department of Education. Grants, loans and work-study are the three major forms of student financial aid available through the Department's Student Financial Assistance office.

The International Student Loan Program (ISLP)
    http://www.iefc.com
The ISLP, developed by the International Education Finance Corporation (IEFC), offers Stafford and alternative loan programs for US students studying abroad. ISLP loans are funded by the BAnk of Boston and Educaid and are guaranteed by the Education Resources Institute (TERI).
